Samples

The following images were taken with the Nikon Z 70-200mm f2.8 VR S II lens mounted on a 45MP Nikon Z8 camera. The images are RAW files developed in Lightroom 14.5/CRAW 17.5 to Adobe Vivid profile with the lens profile compensating CA, distortions, and vignetting. Noise-reduction is set to 0 on images shot below ISO 900, on images with higher ISO I applied AI denoise in Lightroom with the standard setting of 50%. This resulted in a bit of extra sharpening over my normal sharpening of 50/0.5/36/10 but not overly so. I also applied exposure compensation plus some extra tone, color, or saturation adjustment to produce more pleasing images which are closer to what one would normally do when processing RAW files.

The individual exposure details are stated for each image. All of my high resolution Nikon Z 70-200mm f2.8 VR S II sample images are available to download in their original formats for analysis at Flickr. You can also find comparable sample images for the Nikon Z 70-200mm f2.8 VR S (shot on a Nikon Z7) and the Tamron 70-180mm f2.8 Di III VC VXD G2 (shot on a Sony A7R II).
