Summary

Highly Recommended awardThe DJI Pocket 2 is a small camera designed for filming handheld video. Like the original Osmo Pocket, it employs a gimbal-mounted camera for smooth stabilisation with the electronics packed into a small stick-like handle, so you’re ready for action without any accessories. The Pocket 2 updates the original model with a slightly bigger sensor, slightly wider lens, improvements to autofocus and support for new accessories including a wireless microphone. Whether you’re vlogging, filming a family holiday or capturing b-roll for a bigger project, the Pocket 2 becomes the best small camera for handheld filming.

DJI Pocket 2 review

The DJI Pocket 2 is a small camera designed for filming handheld video. Announced in November 2020, it’s the successor to the previous Osmo Pocket and like that model employs a gimbal-mounted camera for smooth stabilisation with the electronics and screen packed into a small stick-like handle, so you’re ready for action without any support accessories, while remaining pocket-sized.

The Pocket 2 updates the original model with a slightly bigger sensor, slightly wider lens, improvements to autofocus and support for new accessories including a wireless microphone. Whether you’re vlogging, filming a family holiday or capturing b-roll for a bigger project, the Pocket 2 promises to be the best small camera for handheld filming. In the video below Ben and I pitch it against a bunch of other options, including side-by-side comparisons against the original Osmo Pocket and the latest GoPro Hero 9.
