Canon PowerShot G7

Canon PowerShot G7 video tour

We’re pleased to present a short video tour of the Canon PowerShot G7. This demonstrates many of the PowerShot G7’s new features including Image Stabilisation and Face Detection.

There’s no need to download any new software – just press the play button in the middle of the screen below and wait for the video to start; you may need to press the button twice. The quality and any delay before playing may vary depending on your internet connection. Note the rainbow effect occasionally seen on the PowerShot G7’s screen during the demonstration is a side effect of the filming process. It is not visible on the PowerShot G7 in real-life.

Good points
6x zoom with stabilisation and superb macro
Flash hotshoe for external Speedlites
Dedicated ISO dial and control wheel
Great creative control and neat on-screen graphics

Bad points
No flip-out screen; no grip to speak of
Noise above 200 ISO
Loss of features from predecessors, eg RAW
A640 and EOS 400D compelling alternatives

(relative to 2006 high-end compacts)
