UPDATE! Check out my Canon EOS R review and Nikon Z7 review!
Canon and Nikon are no strangers to mirrorless cameras, Canon having launched a number of EOS M models and Nikon entering the market with the 1 System before later deciding it wasn’t for them. But so far all of their models have been firmly aimed at the entry to mid-level, leaving rivals to cater for those who desire higher-end options. Today Olympus, Panasonic, Fujifilm, and in particular Sony all offer high-end mirrorless cameras aimed at demanding enthusiasts and professional photographers, and so far Sony has been the only manufacturer to embrace full-frame versions.
Canon and Nikon may have fallen behind on the high-end mirrorless market, but both companies are expected to launch new pro models by the end of the year. In a special edition of the cameralabs video podcast, Gordon and Doug discuss their wishlists with contributions by six special guests; there’s also an audio version lower on the page! PS – if you’re shopping for a new camera right now, check out my guide to the best mirrorless cameras!
Check prices at Amazon, B&H, Adorama, eBay or Wex. Alternatively get yourself a copy of my In Camera book, an official Cameralabs T-shirt or mug, or treat me to a coffee! Thanks!
