Outdoor scene - Nikon D50 comparison

To compare real-life performance
we shot the same scene with each camera within a few minutes of each other
using their best quality JPEG settings. We set the bundled lenses to f8
using Aperture Priority mode. The crops are taken from the originals and
presented here at 100%. The image left was taken with the Nikon D50 using the 18-55mm DX at 40mm f8; the original JPEG measured 2.58MB. A slight over-exposure has seen some detail become washed-out on the dome, but otherwise the results are detailed and similar to the competition. |
