My camera unfortunately does not support saving in RAW format. Out of interest I would like to do some experimenting with RAW files. The software I use should have some support for the different RAW formats.

Does anyone know where I could download some sample RAW files? Do any of the manufacturer sites have these?

I think your best bet is to search on google for sample RAW files.

If you're out of luck, you can always ask here for some stock raw images made by the users here.

If that doesn't work out,, I'll be happy to send you some random samples made in RAW format so you can experiment with RAW processing.

Best,
-Sean.

I don't think there are any to be downloaded. If you want, I can e-mail you a sample.

Thanks guys. If I can't find any I'll take you up on that offer.

No manufacturer site samples but I did find a Polish site with RAW samples of many different cameras.

Maybe others will find it of interest too. It's here: http://raw.fotosite.pl/

You can also upload files through FTP to add to the collection. It is of course most DSLR files there but the Canon G9 is there too. I'd like to see some more samples there of the rare Superzooms/Compacts that support RAW. Maybe some of the members here can upload some of these. Or maybe Gordon can use this site to store samples from reviewed cameras that we can download.

Maybe worth looking into.

Hi Ben, I'm afraid we won't be hosting original files to download as it would kill us on bandwidth - sorry!

I know.

What I suggested is storing them on the site I mentioned so people would download them from there. That wouldn't affect the Camera Labs server at all.

If they offer to use their site, which they seem to do, why not use it?
