Finally my lens is back from Canon Montreal. The barrel thread is damaged but the person at the local camera shop managed to fit the new uv protector.

It took 9 days to ship it to Canon Montreal and then get it back. There was a 25$ fee but since I took their gold guarantee they didnt understand and only charged the UV protector.

The 50mm prime have more quality and sharpness, but cannot zoom. I really love the prime lens for their quality, but i'd say this: It feels d*mn good to have a zoom again !

Construction: 3.5/5

Plastic feel. Seems fragile !

Features: 3/5

Well is has an OK zoom but the quality and sharpness is not that impressive.

Image Quality: 3.5/5

It's an OK, all-around lens. Nothing too great here.

Ease Of Use: 4/5

Easy to use but seems to swallow dust too much

Value For Money: 4.5/5

It's an ok all-around lens, nothing more.. It has nice versatility but nothing amazing
