Bonjour,

Question: How to carry all that stuff Question

Answer: I tried the Lowepro Rezo 190 AW camera bag.

Here is my user review Exclamation

Outside

Here's the bag, built with a strong and solid fabric. There's a small Lowerpo logo: let's call this face the front.

Opening the bag

Actually, the front'll be placed outside. On the following picture, the outside face in on the top, and the photographer is on the bottom.
That's important, because the top of the bag opens from the inside face, i.e from the part closer to the photographer Exclamation

The main benefit of this reverse-open design is, when opening the top of the bag, only the photographer could see what's inside.

Inside the bag

First, there's a protective cloth...

... and then, all the gear carefully placed Exclamation

What's inside Question A Pentax K10D body with attached DA* 16-50 lens, a DA* 50-135mm lens, a AF-540FGZ flash with its stand, a BG2 grip, a battery, a IR remote, a USB cord, two chargers, a SD memory card, a viewfinder cap and a rear lens cover. Sorry, I missed the power cord Exclamation
Please note there's room for another lens Smile Maybe the DA* 60-250 Question

There also a small pocket, perfect for memory cards and a remote. This pocket is closed thanks to a scratch.

Let's have a closer look inside. All the divisions are easily removable, thanks to scratches. The fabric is very soft.

More pocket

The front face of the bag has another pocket, for more memory cards and slim items.

Against the rain

There's a protective cover included against rain. Opening and deploying it is just a matter of seconds. It stays in place firmly thanks to an elastic cord all around. Obviously, I haven't tried yet this feature under the rain Exclamation

The strap

The strap is large and solid and the shoulder pad is non-slip and confortable. The buckles are only single and easy to detach.

Wrap-up

I think I've found a solution to my problem.

The bag is solid and doesn't catch the attention. The inside is easily configurable and the gear is well protected.

The only drawback is the total weight to carry, circa 5 kg / 11 lb Exclamation

Notes
Sorry for the quality of the pictures: they weren't shot with the K10D Sad
All the pictures are available in this album.

Excelent review rei_vilo,
and you dont have to appologise for picture quality. They are just fine and shows what they need to show.

The reason i found this review is because i have about the same amout of stuff you have. With the difference that i dont have a K10D, but a Canon 40-D.

I was wondering... would you be able to fit the K10D in this bag with the longer Lens mounted aswell?

Bonsoir Khol,

You're welcome Smile

I checked the exact measures at the Arrow Lowepro site
Quote:
Size(Interior):
11.2W X 6.5D X 7.3H in./
28.5 X 16.5 X 18.5 cm

The K10D with the 50-135mm attached tops 7.9 in. / 20 cm, so it shouldn't fit.

However, I tried by myself Confused Here are two pictures:

It doesn't fit: the bag is too small Sad It would be a pity to damage the LCD screen and/or the lens cap and/or even worse Exclamation I always carry the K10D with the 16-50mm lens attached, so I haven't suffered from that problem so far.

Why not to have a look at the Micro Trekker 200 Question
Quote:
Size(Interior):
10.4W X 4.9D X 12.6H in./
26.5 X 12.5 X 32 cm

Best regards,

Hi Rei,

Great write-up. It always nice to see a bag review that includes several different pictures from various angles. Looks like a good bag.

Gordon,

Thanks for the link and the review Smile

I'd add I paid EUR 80 for the Lowepro Rezo 190 AW, a terrific value for protecting all my gear Exclamation

Sure, Crumpler bags are more fashion conscious Smile

Best regards,

Ooh, good bump. I've been thinking about getting a bigger bag than the Rezo 160 AW. This looks ideal and I just ordered one Smile I just hope all the extra weight of kit I might carry wont be too much...

So Rei?

It looks like it fits well... do you find the 60-250mm vertically fits cleanly without bulging the top of the bag?

Thanks!

Radam
