Alright, thank you guys so much! You have really made me feel better about the little things that were bugging me. Now my last question on this topic is: If you had to pick, based on all of your knowledge and experience, which camera would you choose? Just curioius.

I am glad I found this place, and I look forward to sharing my adventures with everyone on this forum. Thanks again.

If I were starting from scratch and had no bias towards either manufacturer's lens selection, then I'd go for the 40D over the D200.

But only because the D300 was locked out of the question.
Otherwise my answer would have been: D300 :D

Thank you guys for the answers. And tombomba2, I would love that camera more than anything! Only but it's out of my poor-college-student budget.
Really appreciate the feedback.

Lucky you!
But you know: this places a heavy burden on your shoulders with regard to postings in the forum. You will be the remote testbench for lots of people hanging around here :D

Hi Wonda Boy, I wish you the best of luck in getting a D300 for Christmas - if you're serious and have a chance to pre-order, I'd do so, because Nikon will probably have serious back-orders which may delay some purchases until next year...

This is the thread I need to be paying attention to know since it is in between the D200 body or the 40D w/50mm.

If I buy the D200 body I will already have and SB-600/55-200mm VR/ML-L3/ and depending on whether or not I sell my D40 + kit lens to help pay for the body, a backup body and 18-55mm lens.

If I buy the 40D I will only have the body and 50mm f/1.8.

What do you guys think?

TBH i really dont mind if I have to wait, but I would say in this country the demand wont be THAT big. But if the wait is more prone to numbers being made then so be it.

I would also consider the D200 (But lack off Dust removal which I dont htink it has, is a big turn off) which is very highly rated everywhere. And the pricing of the 40D is very nice too.

We will see what Santa says?
