hey all,
figured this was as good a place as any for this thread

so as the title suggests, i am looking for a web host. i have been looking at my 3 pages (flickr, blogspot, and deviantart) and they are very disorganized and lacking a personal touch

i want to have my own page where i can have thumbnails and the like and be able to sell my prints etc.

the only experience i have with a webhost is geocities way back in the day :)

so anyone have any suggestions??
much appreciated!

I recommend Godaddy.com, they seem very reliable. And cheap as well, you can get 10GB space / 300GB transfer for about $5/month. I'm not sure how much you need but if it was me that's all I'd need...

For photo albums I like SmugMug.com and MyPhotoAlbum.com

For hosting I'm currently using zymic.com (free) and http://2by2host.com/ (paid).

i've used godaddy.com to purchase URL's and I'm currently using IMhosted.com to host a couple sites.

To set prices you need the Pro account which is $150 a year, you set the prices and profit, and Smugmug will charge %12 for all the processing and shipping. Or 6% if you take care of all of it. As you accumulate credits I think they send you a check every month. You also get to post HD videos, make custom watermarks, and a ton more

I use Zenfolio personally, it's a ton easier and I don't need to use all of this CSS or HTML stuff.

Try Photobiz - they don't take any commision for sales as far as I'm aware and the whole operation is very slick. I have a photobiz website but not being a pro haven't taken the shopping cart service.
