No, it doesn't as I recall - otherwise you'd find it hard to use underwater, like an inflatable or a life vest! At the same time though it was quite light, so didn't sink that quickly either!

Thanks for the review Gordon. Image quality is quite decent for this special purpose camera..

I really don't understand why there's no image stabilisation incorporated..it's for underwater use so it would be very difficult to get unshaken photos.

well, underwater it's a different gravity.. and you usually shoot with a flash.. right.. so there's no need for a stabilization.. but.. it's designed to serve as a usuall not underwater camera too.. where image stabilization is a huge privilege. so.. it's now a considerable flaw, while comparing to the rivals.. above water..
anyway.. i had my own ideas to buy one.. however.. i believe, i'll wait for some more refined model..

it look rather nice actually.. the design is attractive.. however such things as
potential scraches and no optical stabilization.. is, to my mind sirrious drawbacks...

by the way what are your personal predicitons about pentax as a brand? do you think they will become equally important as canon and nicon? what the trends of their last models are telling you?

If pentax goes out of business, Samsung will take over the company, just like Konica Minolta did with Sony, OR HOYA might rename Pentax.

Hi Mystic, I don't know what will happen with Pentax - or indeed the other brands - in the future, but GLXR is probably right that Samsung might buy them out in the future.

But when i go scubadiving i m haning at 10m-20m so this is more for the snorkeling types of people i would say.

Hi Alex, absolutely - that's what I said in my verdict. If you're going deeper than a few m, I'd recommend getting a better quality camera with a proper housing.
