Some love it COLD!

Image

Shot with Nikon 35/2.0 at f/2.0, 1/4000sec, ISO 200, EV-1, heavily cropped.
The challenge? Capture the right moment to show the fun this dog was having in the snow.

Have been thinking of how I'd get a very cold photo for this "On assignment"-thread, and with Hollands first snow falling last weekend, I finally got a good opportunity to shoot some photos. If only the snow would have stopped falling, I could have gone outside (don't want to get my camera wet).

So had to stay indoors and shoot this photo:

Image

Camera Model: Sony DSLR-A700
Lens and focal length: Sony 70-200mm f/2.8 G SSM @ 150mm
Aperture: f/2.8
Shutter Speed: 1/3200 sec. (to freeze the falling snow)
Sensitivity: ISO 3200
Post processing: Quite some level adjustment, to make the photo a lot darker, slight adjustment to the contrast, desaturation and some noise reduction.

There's another, similar photo here.

Doesn't matter whether I win or not, just to finally see snow again makes me more than happy! :D

A tough assignment which involved an arduous fifteen minute trek across the (ant)arctic wastelands
of the Cotswolds to my local penguin colony. Well, King Penguins live in cold places, don't they? :)

Hi all!

Like Bjorn, I also shot a picture of the first snow in Holland!
This picture is shot with the camera right up against the root of the tree. The trees in the bottom of the picture are on the other side of a canal in front of my house.
The tree is actually pretty straight, so the distortion of the lens gives that nice weird look.
