Hi , just thought this would be a good subject to start a new topic since a good head is at least equally important as the tripod itself.

With this new topic I also have another question for Tombomba (or any others that have some knowledge about tripods and heads).

So the question : Can you give some more information about ball heads and 3way heads ? I tried searching on the internet but it didn't found a website where it all was mentioned clearly .You already told me the basic characteristics of the heads but It's hard for me to imagine what it's like in practice (video tour Gordon ???? ).

Well, I only own one tripod+head, so am no expert at different types! But I found the manfrotto "Tripod + Head Chooser" here quite helpful.
But with this mechanical things a video could certainly enlighten us all.

Yep, I plan on reviewing some tripod heads in the future, but it may be a while yet!

I dont know if this help, but I tried different Manfrotto heads before choosing, and I found out that the 322rc2 is probably one of the best ever made. Very well built, strong and incredibly stable, lets you easily and fastly move your camera all around the ball, 360° up and down, blocking it immediately in the chosen position.
It is a joystick head and I got it for about € 120, which was a very good price (the standard price should be around € 140)
