Hi All,

I'm planning for a photo shoot at the beach this friday and i've been doing some research on the net with regards to beach photography's do's and dont's.

I'm just thinking is there any way to seal the camera from sand getting in? I wont be swapping lens etc when i'm at the beach!..thats just suicidal..lol

I bought some camera armour for the Nikon D80 ,(i know it sounds silly) just to protect the camera's body. Now i'm going to tape the gaps or bits that were not covered by the armour with clear tape..

I'll try to resist the urge to zoom in, and take more wide angle shots to prevent sand getting into the 18-200mm VR lens. But where possible i will seal any gaps with tape..

I know this thread sounds silly but I'd like to protect my new investment and expensive hobby!

Are there any tips/experiences that you can shed some light on with beach photography?

Thanks

A normal transparant plastic bag could add in protecting your gear from sand and water.
Cut a hole to pass the lens trough and a small hole for the viewfinder. All buttons are perfectly visible that way......you can even look at your photo's on the lcd-screen.
If you use a bag thats big enough you can even zoom. At the front of the lens use a protective filter and some tape to attach the bag.
I know it will look goofy......but thats not what matters.

Take a tent and change lenses inside it.
