I should expalin, although this isn't a picture of me, this is what i use and wear every single day, not once do i leave without any one of the things you see in this photo, most of all, without that grey and black stone which i wear from the rise in the morn till the drop to bed at night

Hope you like it!! Details below:

Camera: Canon EOS 450D
Exposure: 0.02 sec (1/50)
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 300 mm
ISO Speed: 800
Exposure Bias: 0 EV
Flash: Flash did not fire

Post processing: up all light levels and contrast, increase saturation.

I wanted a strong colour effect, as a reflection on personality, and only a glimspe of what i actually do, as that most people see of each other, its rare you see a full person for who they are.

Hope you all had as much fun with this assignment as i did!! V Good one this month, Thanks!!

As a father, is there really any more telling "self portrait" than what you see in your sons or daughters?

When I look at my oldest son - this amazing young man of 17 - it does give me sense of self; a reflection. And I can think of no better way to share an image of myself with you all than this - he is the best of me. (so is my younger son btw..lol)

This is my right hand:

Nikon Nikkor AF 35mm f/2.0D at f/2.0, 1/30 sec, ISO 360, -1EV, some curves and sharpening in CaptureNX
Don't be surprised to see noise here...
The challenge? To shoot my right hand with my left! Handheld, w/o tripod

 Post subject: My first Self-portrait

After taking 20+ pictures of myself, I finally came to this one.
I want to express myself in a very natural way- "as is".

Ps. I changed the link. The old one is not working. But the photo is the same.

Here's a self portrait of myself.

Shot with Nikon D50, 50 f/1.8, and SB-24 bounced off the roof. It resembles me because I am usually a shy person, hence only showing one "eye" in a kind of "peekaboo" fashion.

Peekaboo!

My feeble entry:

Image
Hailing Creativity

Taken with a Canon Rebel XTi and the kit 18-55mm @ 55mm and f/10.

The sun right behind me, I'm holding an EOS Elan 7E.

I really wish I'd had more time on this one.

 Post subject: My October submission
PostPosted: Fri Oct 31, 2008 6:38 pm
Here is my entry for this month.

It was tough to do exactly what I wanted to do, and it ended up being more of a Photoshop-y assignment than a Photography assignment, but I did try to use the raw material as much as possible.

Image

The specs:

Camera Model: Pentax K200D
Lens and focal length: Pentax DA 50-200mm @ 50mm
Aperture: f4.0
Shutter Speed: 1.6 seconds, and 1/5 second
Sensitivity: 100
Processing: I took multiple exposures which were combined in Photoshop. The main image was overlayed by 2 other (intentionally) blurred images. A little bit of level adjustment, saturation and contrast were done to bring out the ghost image more clearly.

Whew!

Cheers,

David
