Hi Thomas, thanks for your comments, its a tamron AF70-300 F/4-5.6.
Im also embarrassed to say i take many of my photos on auto. I have so much to learn and sometimes not enough time i.e only weekends.I also worry that if i dont shoot on auto, i might miss a great photo by messing it up, but i really intend to try harder, but the main thing is i thoroughly enjoy myself.

Nothing to be embarrassed about, Sue. I shoot mostly on auto too!
The critical thing is to know when you cannot rely on auto alone

Btw.: I'd love to see more closeups of those lovely, colorful, iridiscent feathers.
I think the Purple Swamphen as well as the Palawan Peacock Pheasant provide some excellent "material"!

Hello again Thomas, hope you dont mind me adding a few more.


This peacock strutted around freely,every time i went to take a photo he turned his head, or wandered into the bushes,deliberately i think, or just camera shy, lol, i finally managed to get a few shots (auto again )



I love the red colour of the rooster.


This bird i feel is definately posing, showing off his feathers, but it looks like his losing some stuffing.

Taken with my tamron lens 70-300 ,the peacock i cropped, and i adjusted the contrast on them all

Thanks, Thomas! I will prepare more of the bird photos for the thread. I already posted the "best" ones in my other thread and these were the runner ups, but I certainly have so many more to choose from.

We think this was a Kestral, I actually managed to grab 2 shots of him coming out of the undergrowth with his prey in one he had a field mouse in the next he had dropped it, and both the pics? I was so flipping keen to get the shot that I panned awfully and ruined them both, but still got this one that I really like.
