Now that some hours have passed and after having seen the photos and videos in detail, I have to say I really dislike the black keyboard. And that black surrounding the display looks great on a desktop iMac, not on a laptop MacBook, in my opinion. Also, bare aluminium... doesn't work to me as the old-fashioned "mac white".

So all in all - tech specs apart - I think the old MacBook is a lot classier than the new one.

I might just take advantage of price drops and get one of those little 13" old MacBooks.

I've never had other computer than Mac, but last year it's going to HELL with these TERRIBLE GLOSS idiotic screens, and it become a tendency...

sorry for my outrage,

Oddly enough, I find the look of the MacBook to be much better than the new MacBook Pro even though they look essentially the same. I guess it's something to do with the size.

I read MacRumors about every other day and one thing I noticed a lot was that users of the MBP like the matte screen option and hated the MBA/MB keyboard so I don't know why Apple completely disregarded this.

Apple wants a consistant style. throughout their range.

That is what they now have, apart from the Mac Pro, but it doesn't really stick out that much.

I think in terms of a laptop for me, it was between a MBP, a IBM Thinkpad, Sony Vaio, or Dell Studio....you can count the MBP out of that list now.
