See that is what I thought because after I pick up my Nikkor 55-200mm VR lens on Friday I am gonna start savin up for the D80 body, that is what I am sure that I will do.

Although my friend who had the D80 and just picked up a D200 in the last few days said to skip out on the D80 and go for D200 so I started to think, but I still am leaned toward the D80 and about 85% sure that is what I am gonna do.

D80 doesn't take the D40 battery so buy another EN-EL3E batter. You can get 3rd party batteries buy Nikon tends to be recommend brand for nikon cameras. Just wanted to let you know on the battery situation.

D80 body can be had for under 900 USD. B and H and adorama dont accept or ship orders on sabbath but on non sabbath days they are super quick. They are the cheapest Legit online camera retailers out there. I ordered 2 CR-P2 batteries for my grandfathers Pentax SF1 and it came very quickly with UPS ground. Hopefully when you get your new camera enjoy it!
