Bringing us briefly back on-topic (!) how many people like the 'quick release' clips that are used by most of these third party strap upgrades? I'm not sure I like them myself - I'd like the least possibility of something coming undone on a strap, and these seem to be inviting a potential issue.
Maybe they'd come loose by themselves, causing the camera to fall, or maybe an adept thief could unclip your camera from your very neck!
So all you long-term op-tech owners - has it ever been an issue?
I've read that the quality of the clips is to the standard of things like rock climbing harnesses which, in my experience and for obvious reasons, are very safe.
Like you, I was initially a little worried about a quick release system but the convenience will probably outweigh the potential risks of the thing coming undone when you're walking. Personally, when my camera is round my neck I'm always holding the base of the lens anyway so it's never hanging on it's own weight. Leaving it hanging on it's own tends to hurt as it swings around I find.
I purchased one last night and when it arrives I may throw up a few close-up pictures and an initial review.
