Nikon D80, Sigma 10-20 @ 20mm

Three bracketed exposures hand-held, RAW(NEF).

1/640sec, 1/160sec, 1/40sec

f/11

ISO 100

Processed initially in Photomatix Pro then Photoshop CS3. Nik Color Efex Pro 3.0 used liberally. It's noisy but I like it this way.

When I remember how to link with an actual image I'll update this post.

Yep, we really need to see an image which complies with the 500 pixel limit so that forum members can work from a level playing field when they vote.

Once you have a URL which points to a correctly sized image, and ends in "jpg", then just wrap it in [img]..[/img] tags. If you want the image to be "clickable" then use the URL you have already posted above immediately after the "=" sign in the construction [url=..][img]..[/img][/url].

Bob.

P.S. Great entry and I'm sure it will do well, even when resized!

Are you saying that not only does the image in Cameralabs have to be no more than 500px but also the image which is linked to?

No. Custom and practice has allowed links to larger images.

The only point I'm making is that an image within the size guidelines should be the one displayed in the forum thread - sorry if I didn't make the point clearly. If, for any reason, it's impossible to display an image in the thread (some photo-sharing sites seem to have difficulty serving images for forum display) then my interpretation of the spirit of the rules is that the prominent link should be to an image which is within the guidelines. Anything else would be unfair to other entrants, particularly when it comes time to vote.

Fortunately for you PBase can serve images for forum display. For example:

OK Bob, thanks for the help. It's still clear as mud to me though I'm afraid. Copy & paste to the rescue. It's certainly easier with a Flickr account but as I don't have one I think in future I'll just desist from posting images for this monthly comp. Way too much hassle. On other forums I'm a member of it's possible to just upload the 500px image, far simpler for me. You'd think as this is a Photography site this would be possible, but no. It's easier to get out, take the shot & process it than it is to post a simple link, lol.

Zorro, with the beauty of your work, I really hope you will stay. Flickr accounts are free, and if you wish you could just use it for your monthly submission. If a computer "ding-bat" like me can follow the step by step, someone with your obvious savvy should have no problem. Don't deprive us of seeing your work.

Hey, thanks for that. Actually I do have a Flickr Pro account I just prefer not to use it these days. Glad you like some of my pics though, that's what it's all about.

Zorro I don't like to patronise anybody, but I like your style and you may remember voted for your pic of the river scene two or three months ago. Anyway for me your entry, with all due respect to others is my favourite so far.
Regards John :)

zorro. your photographic expertise, and your creative sense, your mastery of that elusive quality of light, has given me reason to continue on, and try news things.. I enjoy your "take" on photography, your perspective of the world...Unique, seriously fun, totally you.

Hopeful you will reconsider leaving us.

I thought you had your knickers in a knot. pertaining to the perplexing pixels, possibly presenting a positively perturbing problem...put to rest. Now that I know you are staying, I can be rotten again, and concentrate on the waddles. Whew. That being nice stuff, is hard. But all I said is true, and I am glad you are not going anywhere soon... I guess I thought you were checking out...saying it was easier to go...

made me Askeeert..
