D200 placed on railing, ISO 100, Sigma 10-20 @ 10mm, 14s @ f11

Travelling to Hong Kong was one of the reasons why I've been absent from the forum for a while. Comments and critique welcome.

Ed, this photo is AWESOME! the colors are amazing, as you'd expect from an LTE and there is a really neat light spot in the sky, so got any other amazing photos from Hong Kong?

Nice one Ed. I used to walk up there regularly from Causeway Bay (trying to undo the harm of too many sizzling prawns) and I don't remember very many such clear days. Care to share the post-processing?

Bob.

Thanks for all the replies. Minimal PP was done - saturation of yellows, reds and blues were increased, and a small mid-tone levels adjustment.

That makes it even more remarkable. Nice work! 8)

Fantastic shot - is there a bigger resolution one you can link to somewhere?

I was out in HK some years ago but wasn't into photography at the time  so missed out on this shot.

The views from Kowloon back across to Victoria Peak are also amazing - do you have any of this view you could share too?

Cheers
Scott

Absolutely breathtaking mate! I'd also like to see a larger version but I can understand why you might be reticent. Hong Kong does look amazing and it's on my list. But it's a long list, lol.

Hi. I've taken another break from the forum.

Sadly I didn't get the weather to trek across to get the reverse image from Kowloon. I had 2 days of good weather, and then the rest with heavy rain. I have grainy captures from past visits using inferior equipment.

I do have this alternative viewpoint from Victoria Peak that is also quite popular with photographers.

I'll see if I can repost larger photos in the upcoming weeks.

You know, photoj, these images are special...I think what I like most is the light is pastel, nothing harsh rather dreamlike in the midst of the city..where the lines are so angular...and then the soft glow of light almost making the buildings translucent...

love them both..

This is a beautiful shot and a fine way to depict Hong Kong, well worthy for a wall hanger.

Cheers Ormina
