Another hit on the "hate"-list: Most DSLRs dumber than Olympus OM2!
How so? The Oly measured the light reflecting from the film and was thus not perceptible to light falling into the viewfinder.
See the shocking report and how you can avoid the pitfalls here: http://www.cameralabs.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=6066
-----------
If you know of a DSLR that measures exposure by the lihgt reflecting from the sensor - give me a hint :!:

Well, well: You're living in paradise. There are not that many countries on earth like New Zealand

I think you mean Middle-Earth.

Indeed. Orcs might pillage and plunder but they still know that it's wrong to steal an expensive camera.

My point is, is it can't get stolen if its firmly gripped in my hand with neck strap wrapped around hand, or around my neck, or if I'm in class and I need to go toilet I'll just hand it to my mate next to me who sits it right in front of him. I'm saying I'm obsessive and don't think I would ever for example just leave it behind me without my eye on it. Anyways I think I should add something to this post so its not so off topic ummm.

I think they should of included a cleaning kit (Lens tissue, blower etc), I spent that much on a camera I thought they would at LEAST include lens cleaning cloth.

I use the strap cause I think the Nikon Straps look pro :)

I agree, I even have a Nikon D200 neck strap for my D50 and my D70s

Anyway the D80 has a flash of 200/sec (STUPID!) my D50 does better with 500/sec!

Yeah I wish they wrote "Nikon D80" on the strap hehe

I'm not to bothered about that as it IS a built in flash and I don't expect much lol.

The rated sync speed is dependent on the camera I believe, rather than the flash. Even if you bought a lovely brand new SB800, you're sync speed on the D80 would still be 1/200 sec.

I guess it's just one of those prices we pay for a great quality, affordable DLSR like the D80... :)

I don't like the position of the finger dial on my A100. Sony really should've either put it behind the shutter release or used a thumbwheel, like some other SLRs.

Second thing is the flash, which is manually raised as opposed to automatic or spring loaded. Either would've been preferable.

Apart from that, the A100 is a fine camera. However if they fixed those two niggles that would make a good SLR so much better.
