Whoa, just seen the price of the new Samsung Spinpoint F1 1000GB 32MB SATA II (HD103UJ). That is unbelievable: You can get 1 terabyte of storage in one drive for less than 250EUR.
If you're back-up conscious, you can get 2x500GB (Samsung SpinPoint T166 500GB SATA II (HD501LJ)) for 2x90EUR plus a cloning-prog (fantastic value: Acronis True Image 10.0) for 35EUR! That is 215EUR for 500GB w/backup.

Indeed prices are coming down.

We have 1.4Tb in the house machine and around 800Gb in mine, and mine has plenty space left, even with hundreds of photoshop files all over the place, and plenty music. The house machine has loads of HD TV shows, since were not gonna pay £300 for a the HD box and an extra £10 a month for like 10 HD channels!

I also have a terabyte. I well remember thinking to myself "Wow, that's plenty much". That was only last Christmas but RAW files take up a lot of space. I like the sound of doubling it. I have a 250GB drive with Windows and programs on it, a 500GB drive with videos, images and music on it and a further external 250GB drive full to the brim with music, some 27,000 tracks

I'm going to look into that. I also fancy picking up a laptop too but I'm not really up to date with them. No idea what I should be looking at.

Laptops make a nice add-on when you're traveling and need some space to store all your pics on and preview them for quality.
Currently you can have 2GB-RAM (recommended) and 160GB hard-disk plus a Intel latest Core2 Duo T7100 for about 800EUR from FSC (Fujitsu-Siemens Computers).
That should even allow you to use CaptureNX on the lappy...

So you're facing some hard decisions, Zorro:
- DIN A3+ printer >500EUR
- Laptop >800EUR
- Nikkor 10.5mm >600EUR
Well, well: I can see Santa been definitely overwhelmed
