Hi!

I've been so taken by looking at DSLR and lenses that I forgot to ask a question about memory cards in my previous post.

As I've said before, I used to work with film and the K10D will be my first digital camera. I know I have to use a memory card but I'm really lost as to what to use.

I looked on wikipedia.org to learn a bit about them and I understand that SDHC cards are better (i think... I must admit I'm a little lost ) but what about the different brands? What should I look for? Does it make a difference?

I think I want to buy a 4 Go card.

There are differences in reliability between the different manufacturers.
Well known are Sandisk, Corsair, Kingston, Transcend. You pay around 10EUR per GByte and I would also suggest going with at least a 4GB card.
As the stadard SD-cards are only valid up to 2GB, you have to go for SDHC if you buy something with 4 or 8GB (soon 16GB).
But it's perfectly safe to buy a standard SD card up to 2GB. It will work in your K10D.
As to the speed grade: If you're looking in to continuous shooting at high fps buy the highest speed grade (=class 6) that you can get.

If you want to take the card out of your cam and read it directly from your computer: make sure that you have a SDHC-compatible card-reader!
Most PC card-readers are only good for SD-cards.
But you can always tranfer your pics directly from the cam to your PC via USB...
