The monument to Sir Walter Scott on Princes Street, Edinburgh. Edinburgh is sometimes called the "Athens of the North" because of its incredible architecture including many buildings built in an ancient Greek style. There is even an (incomplete) scaled-down parthenon on Calton Hill.

It's an HDR from 5 exposures made in photomatix, plus some dodging and burning (brightening and darkening specific areas) in Paint Shop Pro.

hold on Calmac...how this one is lit, is incredible...a sleeper...you want to look at it at first, and say...a church-type structure... but then the light draws you...and holds your eye.. I enjoy the way the sky looks...and I really am attracted to the way the light changes color...the base of this photo is gold tone, rich, solid, and the light, dances and turns silvery at the top of the photo, creating almost twinkles, in fairy like glitter...so, tho you know what my favorite ones are, I like this quite a bit, too! I think the compostition,and the way you chose to place this structure, enhances the entire look.

Wicked. Seriously, if I could live anywhere in the UK it would be Scotland.
I agree about the architecture in Edinburgh, it really is fantastic.
