 Post subject: Portable photo printers?
PostPosted: Wed May 21, 2008 7:07 pm
Does anyone have one of these? There's a couple of Canon portable photo printers that I believe can run off batteries, which I'm quite interested in. Does anyone have one or has used one that might share their opinions?

I know for a fact that the Canon ones need custom special Inks, and they can be a pain to buy. The epson one's I think can take a ribbon. You'll have to check out some reviews though. Sorry i couldn't be of more help. Personally I think portable printers are a waste of time/money as they are costly for the amount of prints they give. You might as well buy a few more memory cards and a more expensive-home printer.

Don't know about portable printers, but my Canon IP4200 sucks! It takes about 3 hours from "turn on" to "ready to print" and as soon as one of its 4, extortionately expensive ink cartridges runs out, you have to replace the empty one otherwise the others won't work, even if they're full. My old printer, can't remember what it was, used to make the missing colour from the other colours if one of them ran out. Not ideal I know, but at least the printer wasn't disabled until a replacement could be bought.

One day I would like to get one of those beautiful A3 printers :)
