Here's my submission.

The duck was reflecting in the water, and I thought it would make a good shot.

My take on the reflection-theme:

Mosquito in Red
Image

The technical set-up: Shot handheld from 1.8m with Sigma 400mm@f/5.6 1/250 sec ISO 200.
The location: On my car
The optical challenge: Get the focus on the fluttering insect correctly so as to show enough of the mosquito and the reflection in-focus.
The imaginary challenge: To capture something of a reflecion that is not seen "everyday".

my entry for this months challenge is titled Ducks eye view, cause this is where the ducks sit on the dam bank in spring and summer - is late autumn now so no ducks - sorry Patti

Nikon D40x + 18-55mm kit lens at 18mm hand held
Mode: manual
Aperture: f22

I love this spot. It is the dam nearest to our house, so it's really closeby and convenient and VERY peaceful.

Any c&c welcomed :D

:?: How do I get a bigger picture to show up :?: :?

Just click on "All sizes" at the flickr-page of the image and select the ***x500 wide (called medium), then use the ***.jpg string at the bottom of that page

Red Square Reflection

Image

Camera Model: Nikon D80
Lens and focal length: AF Nikkor 35mm f/2 D
Aperture: 4.0
Shutter Speed: 1/60
Sensitivity: 200
Post processing: RAW conversion.

This is a reflection of one of the Kremlin's towers on Red Square. The only difficulty (too strong a word though) in this shot was waiting for the rain and wind to stop for just a few seconds so that there would be enough detail. If you look closer you can see the stone bricks changing the texture of the lower part of the tower.

Not sure about the quality of the post processing since it was my first day shooting RAW.

Camera Model: Canon EOS 350D
Lens and focal length: EF-S 60mm USM macro
Aperture: 2.8
Shutter Speed: 1/100
Sensitivity: ISO800
Post processing: Resize only

I like shiny things. Originally I was going for a reflection of the window, but I found the blurred effect to be more pleasing.

My main challenge is that the Canon is borrowed from work, and I am not familiar with using it or any DSLR.

Walking around the Bayou around my neighborhood and saw a warning sign that had been thrown in the water/mud, liked the plant growing around the back as if it was becoming part of the Bayou now.

Just for the fact that it had been ripped off of a post I will name it "Vandalized"

This is my first ever post!
I took this picture last week while having a long beauty weekend at the dead sea. The view and landscape are amazing over there... and the picture doesn't really capture this
I took it with my new SONY alpha A700 and my old TOKINA PRO zoom lens.
Feel free to visit my flickr pics (a bit bigger) http://www.flickr.com/photos/27406624@N00/

Thanks for watching
And keep posting.

Nir, Tel-Aviv.

Well here goes my first attempt for an assignment. I took this picture of the little creek where I grew up. I saw many a flood of it; hence the name Troublesome Creek :D
