Bit of a thunderstorm here after a cloudy day. So, rushed out to grab some pictures of delectable droplets.

Shot hand-held with a +3 close-up lens on my 55-200 mm VR

105 mm Focal Length
1/50 shutter speed
f/8 aperture
1100 ISO

Little bit of PP in Aperture for contrast and sharpness

Syncharmony beautiful, simple, and elegant...lovin' that one.

Patti, that is the cutest little duckling! Does it classify as a duckling?...it looks quite small.

yeah, he was with his family, but it was a "blended" family...there were babies from different families, all together, with one mama and daddy, watching over them all, he was the little one, and was looking back at me, I forgot my popcorn today, so they only stayed for a minute or two, but he was a little wistful...I got a really good one of him, flapping his wings, on da duck o' the day...he was WAY cute, CM. Sorry GR...I wanted to participate on your thread, and this was all I had for today, tomorry I will do better, and promise no more quackage up here...this is going to be a great little thread, and fun project..

Comments and critique welcome?? For the second shot, I can see the sun is coming from the left of the frame, a cool idea might have been to take the shot from down low, you a little bit to the left of the front of the statue, so that it creates a silhouette, the sun behind the statue, then you using the built in flash as fill flash. In your camera settings there should be a setting where you can increase/lower the output of the flash to make it a bit softer as well. Just a thought, hope you don't mind me thinking out loud here

Great shot, Syncharmony, I love the DoF and the water dropslets.
Nice ducks Patti. I saw some ducks already in the "Duck of the Day"-thread, I believe it was. The left one looks funny.
I like Nick's second picture, it's an interesting sculpture. You may want to crop it a little, all the trees and sky above the head are unnecessary.

No pics for me today.

Assuming this thread takes off, I hope it can get stickied so we don't have to scroll around to find it all the time.

here is my shot for today, out with the horses, and came across a volunteer sunflower...am waiting for the cactus to bloom, and went to check on them, and instead was greeted by this...cactus are about 5 days from bloom, so not wanting to be empty handed, I submit this for today..

I fixed the duck, GR...thanks for the heads up on that...will watch my size from here on out...

patti

Hey all, I just added this to the main intro to the thread;

"Please state if you would like to receive comments and critique. The nature of the thread is to have a place to just post a spur of the moment photo that you might want to share, but if you'd like to be given constructive comments and criticism, please indicate this by putting "CC Welcome" in the subject line after the title of your photo."
