Hey all, I thought it might be an idea to have a 'general' photo of the day thread. I've seen it on some other forums, and thought it would be a good idea for here, for when you just took a snap shot, or something that doesnt quite fit into one of the topics already available.
The reason I'd like something like this is because I carry my camera with me whenever I go out, and was just thinking that sometimes you take a photo and you don't think it's that great, but just want to show it anyway, without the need for making a 'Unique' thread just for a few photos that you wanted to share. Also, the Various sections we have at the moment, under each heading it says 'share your photography tips', so I suppose if anyone just want's to show off a random photo, for the fun of it, not necessarily for C+C, then this thread could be the place to post it in. Obviously if you have a group of shots from a sports event, then that would be best off in the specific forum section, as it is a 'group' of photos of a specific topic.
The rules for the thread, are
one to two photos per day,
taken on the day.
I'd like to request that photos be kept to a
max length (both width and height) resolution of 800pixels.
Also, please state if you would like to receive comments and critique. The nature of the thread is to have a place to just post a spur of the moment photo that you might want to share, but if you'd like to be given constructive comments and criticism, please indicate this by putting "CC Welcome" in the subject line after the title of your photo.
I'll start off with a few photo's that I grabbed from the back seat of the (moving) car(window open), after dropping a family member off at the airport;
Taken with 70-300VR, using Aperture Priority mode.
300mm
F.5.6 (I really should have stopped down to F11, but anyway)
1/1000
Iso 100
VR - On - Active mode
Contrast, brightness and sharpening adjusted in CS3
I know the poles in the shot are a real eyesore, but for the sake of just having the photo, and being taken from a moving car, I can't complain.
70mm
F5
1/1000
Iso 100
VR - On -Active mode
P+P; Brightness+Contrast
