If anybody has a S1000fd I would appreciate hearing what you think of it.
I'm looking around for a friend.
I really wandered how good the picture stablisation was because the few reviews I've read don't go into it.
Seems good value at PurelyGadgets at the mom at £146.

Unfortunately the S1000fd does not feature any kind of image stabilisation - a major design omission for a camera with a 12x optical zoom range

Have a look at this Trusted Reviews review. The lack of stabilisation is discussed on the second page.

To quote from that review: "I think potential buyers will look at it briefly, and then buy the S5800 instead" - Some food for thought hey??

the advert for Jessops says "electronic IS" but I guess that just means a certain mode to increase the shutter speed.
