I want to make business cards to pass out to people as I'm taking photos for whatever reason. Now that im getting paid to take photos i figured they would come in handy.

anyone has any advice on what to put on there?

i mean, obviously my name and number, but should i just put "photographer"
or maybe "freelance photographer"
or photographer for hire?

any advice?

i think just photographer looks fine, dont want to confuse people, imo. if you work for a company maybe put there name on there somewhere, watermark maybe?

A friend of mine who is a photographer actually put some of his best photos on his cards - he only had one image on each card, but several different cards... it was actually pretty classy, although the image would have to be right obviously, and also look good at the small print size...

Worth considering anyway if you're already using a full colour printing process for the cards. (although you may only be doing it with 2 colours or less if it's just a logo and text).

There have been multitudes of complaints regarding this company. Just search for the company and then "scam" afterwards to find plenty of documentation.

I myself have used them, and have had to change my banking account following the payment of the order. It's not all negative as they delivered a good product in a speedy manner.

Why did you have to do that?

If you do a web search for the company and then add the search word "scam", there will be many documentations of what they do. In essence, they will take out a monthly sum from your account through one of their subsideries if you're not careful.

I'm in no way a professional, and there's no need for me to have a business card, but for a school assignment, I've made one:

Comments and tips are more than welcome.
I added this many site addresses because www.hbphotography.nl doesn't exist (yet), but the others do.

Bjorn I am glad I caught your post and really wanted to check the going pro section, I almost started a brand new topic about business cards.

Image

thats my design, not quite sure I saw something like it (exactly like it) on a website tobywuk sent me (here) and basically i did the exact same design, theirs is red and so is mine but I have a red color a love (hex #8b0000) and thats what I used.

I also designed another cool one I'll take a photo of, thats white it says JAKE OCONNELL (enter) PHOTOGRAPHY at the top there is a hole in the O in photography.

then at the bottom it says my contact info.

Can anyone guess what the hole in the O is for, I am a photographer, lets not forget here. Bjorn, dont answer I already told you.

Jake
