I had another shot in mind for this assignment, however, I think I could try and capture it for years and years and still not get it. So I decided to post this one:

Image

Canon EOS 40D
17-85 @70mm
ISO: 640
Aperture: F4
Shutter: 1/20
PP: Very small Saturation and Vibrance adjustments plus slight Straightening.

EDIT: Ooops sorry forgot about resizing the image, same pic just resized to 500px - Thanks Bob :)

Just got back from a school workweek in Finland. I had a great time and was able to take quite some photos. To bad I forgot to focus on transportation, because I saw a lot (planes, busses, trams, cars etc). I did take this picture in the plane though. My first flight ever, it was not scary or anything, quite relaxed really.

Image

Camera Model: Sony DSLR-A700
Lens / focal length: Carl Zeiss 16-80mm F3.5-4.5 / 30mm
Aperture: F4
Shutter Speed: 1/500 sec.
Sensitivity: ISO 100
Post processing: cloned some light reflections away and made the picture a little less bright.

I love the way the sun shines only on the tip of the wing of the plane (I believe it was a 737-800).
More photos from my Finland trip will be uploaded here.

"The Big Race"
Image
Please click the photo and view the large version
It looks a lot better.

Camera: Canon Rebel XTI (400D)
Shooting mode: Program AE
Shutter speed: 1/800
Aperture Value: 9.0
ISO: 200
Lens: Tamron 70-300mm
Focal Length 300mm (equal to 480mm)
White Balance Mode: Auto
Post proscessing: Croped, auto ajust, add text

Ok, I did not think I was going to get anything for this one, but here goes.
You may be wounder how this relates to "Transportation".
Well, this race boat is very large. the owner has a very small dog.
He gave the dog a ride from one end of the pond to his wife on the other side
He had done this as I was setting up my camera so I did not get that shot :( .

Transportation as I know it. It's for real with Lindsay on horse and daughter on bike.
I must say that on the M25 with an airliner above landing at Heathrow would make an ideal shot but, I cannot drive and take a picture at the same time!

Living in Queenstown, New Zealand's adventure capital (!) there's always plenty of things zooming around. I was about to post an image of a mountain biker doing a jump from an event the other day, but it was overcast and lacking colour. So instead today spontaneity called as a jetboat sailed past while I happened to be testing a DSLR with an 18-250mm lens. Nothing technical - I just turned, zooomed the lens fully-in and snapped the shot in fully automatic and was lucky with the position.

Image

I'm going to be coy about the DSLR used, as you all know I don't like giving away which reviews are coming up! But the lens used was an 18-250mm, and that might give you a clue...

Camera: To be confirmed!
Lens: 18-250mm at 250mm
Shooting mode: Program
Shutter speed: 1/350
Aperture Value: 8
ISO: 200
White Balance: Auto
Post processing: slight crop

I have called this shot market day. A very young and urban family arrived by bicycle to our monthly continental market. It was a beautiful sunny morning and just about everything around us and everyone around us was bursting with colour.

My main problem in taking the shot was in trying to get down low enough to cut out the cars just above the hedge.

Hey all my first entry ever here. I thought what can i take to depict transport, well i went with the obivous, the most popular form, the car. Thats where the obvious stopped i wanted to make this interesting and i thought the easiest way to do this was to play with light. This is what i came up with...

Image

Camera Model: Nikon D60
Lens and focal length: 18-55mm VR / 34mm
Aperture: F5
Shutter Speed: 1/13
Sensitivity: ISO 200
Post processing: a little tiny crop

Here is mine, I took this in a moving bus, but I think it turned out pretty cool.
It's not everyday you see a Lotus on the road, well at in this particular part of Texas. (Waco)

I had a lot of ideas for this, and I spent all day on the sixth shooting and I made two new pieces of DIY equipment for this assignment, and well the shot I ended up choosing was nothing fancy at all.

Gold reflector camera left.

Hey guys,

This is my first submission and I guess I was the last as well (I hope I can make it)
I just tought that all transportations need identifications to enable people passing by saying "hey I know that car, that my friend's"...etc. etc.
So this is MY plate number my friend gave me on my b.day
It's not legal though but it is a car plate number...haha

Here it is

Camera Model: Pentax K10D
Lens and focal length: 18-55mm @24mm
Aperture: f/8.0
Shutter Speed: 0.7"
Sensitivity: ISO 100
Post processing: UV filter on lense & Cropped
