the moment of capture, settings were the last thing he was thinking. JUST GET THE SHOT. I have many such moments, and when downloaded, I think...if only I had taken a few extra seconds to set this to that, or that to this..you know.
You'll have to forgive my criticism, as I also went from using a film SLR to a digital. I however did RTFM, and know about the 'auto mode' for those times when I just gotta 'GET THE SHOT'.

Sorry did you make a submission somewhere L.B? Or is this a case of 'two people posting at the same time'? My criticism was directed at the poster of the shot, not you. I was not 'attacking' the reader in any way, and as someone who's been in the army, I'm sure sgt picture can take a lot more than me telling him to use the auto mode without the need for a defence.
