Thats is spot on! The is so little light and as i move about all the time my body does not have time to reflect back any light to the camera sensor, thus no image will appear as the "main" light in moments or photos like these will be the light coming out from the flashlight. And i m standing behind it making sure that its not pointing at me at any stage, and once i m done i move out of the frame and turn of the light!

how do you think i m doing in mastering it Ed?

i have done a tutorial on it (video) i m trying to upload it on youtube but it does not want to let me do it for some reason. So i have to try a different source

You're doing more than okay. The only comment I have to make on the images here is that the third could be cropped a little - there's a bit too much space around your snake. The first two are fun images and are well done.

Yeah i thought about giving that image a crop as well, but wasn't really sure that it needed it! Till later on when i was checking my sideshow out then i realized yeah it needs a crop!
