I title this "Head-on." Its a Singapore MRT(Mass Rapid Transit) train slowing to a crawl as it stops at the station. Background was unsightly so it had to suffer under my Photoshop 7.0's paintbrush. I wish I had a polarising filter but I'm not willing to spend 20 bucks on it! Next time, p'raps. Wanted to add lens flare but it didn't have satisfactory results so I did not add it. I went all over Singapore (tiny place =P) to get a shot for this month's theme, but I couldn't get anything CL-worthy so I made do with this shot which I snapped on my way home. Dedicated to CL which explains the text at the "Platform One." :D

Techies:
Sony A200 + SAL1870 lens
35mm focal length
Shutter Priority, 1/60
f7.1
ISO 100
Flash did not fire.
EV +0.3
AWB
DRO+

Post processing:
Auto lines
Auto colour
Auto contrast (most significant auto image adjustment)
-Rest, see text-

All comments most certainly welcome,
SnS

P.S.: I had another shot which had the panning effect but it was so out of focus I decided the slightly-sharper one that was frozen should be submitted. To put it crudely: I suck anyway :( To put it nicely: I could do with lots of improvement.

These guys know all about "transportation". With legs like that, transportation is what they do best! Picture taken at the Phoeniz Zoo, Arizona, USA.

Camera: Canon EOS 40D
Exposure: 0.001 sec (1/800)
Aperture: f/6.3
Focal Length: 90 mm
ISO Speed: 400

Minor crop and color adjustments.

Heres my entry on "transportation" and i decided to take some pics of my bike and then hopefully get a good one and i think i did.. so here it is..

"The bicycle is a curious vehicle. Its passenger is its engine. ~John Howard"

Here is my first ever on assignment.....

Image

Full Sized

Specs:
Exposure:1/20sec at f/5.6
Focal Length:55mm
ISO:3200
Model:Nikon D80
-handheld
-no flash

PP: Tone curve in lightroom to bring out contrasting levels and colors.. when i converted to jpeg and posted on flickr colors went gray so i edited in flickr the exposure and contrast again.. but this looks exactly the same as the raw in lightroom.

The photo is dedicated to my grandfather like always and thats about it.

Thank you,
Dan

After sitting the last one out, studying the basics, I hope to have learned a bit of a lesson, so here goes -- a shot I took earlier in April, depicting the historical streetcar heading into the (more or less) organized chaos known as Beyoglu (Pera), Istanbul

Image

Equipment: Nikon D40, AF-S Nikkor DX 18-55 mm f/3.5-5.6GII ED, Cokin 52 mm circular polarizer
Focal length: 18 mm
Exposure Program: Manual
Aperture: f/8
Shutter speed: 1/60 sec
ISO: 200
EV: -0.66

Postprocessing: RAW conversion, plus an overall decrease in the brightness of the sky to reduce blow-outs. Also tweaked contrast and HSL settings. All tweaks performed in ACDSee Pro 2.

Aperture: 22
Shutter Speed: 1/20

Wow, seems I'm the first one to do car trails!
I imagined there would be a few by now, but I guess I was wrong.

Well this was a first for me as I had never tried car trials or in fact night photography. I enjoyed and plan more ventures out like this.

Camera Model: Nikon D80
Lens and focal length: 18-135mm - focal length (eqv.) 216mm
Aperture: 4.5
Shutter Speed: 20"
Sensitivity: 100
Post processing: Turned the brightness and the temperature down slightly and cropped a small part from the bottom.

Taken from the Rock of Gibraltar looking down on the bay. I was trying
to capture all the ships in the bay. My wife counted 38 at one time. I
thought that truly represented transportation. I realize the photo has
some vignetting, but I felt it framed the subjects.

Sony Alpha 100
1/500
140mm
F/4.0

From the time of the ancients these majestic Arabians have transported warriors, supplies, as well as competitive riders. This fortunate fellow has only to transport himself and sire an occasional colt. Utterly free.

Was wandering around Nishinomiya on my APRIL trip to Japan and happened to stop on a bit of a bridge to watch the traffic (it was extremely pleasant out). Seeing as how I had my trusty D80 with me, I gave my particular shot (har) at those familiar light-trails that I seem to be seeing so much about :D
