Oh dear, Patti.. you've got me started lol!
Yup! Bunnies can be kept indoors, just like cats and dogs. And they are generally easy to litter train too.
Mine live free range in my living room.. if you look at the pic of Buttons standing up on her hind legs (reaching for her fave treat ever: raisins!), there are 2 plastic boxes behind her, those are their litter boxes. I also put their pellets, hay, vege and water inside those boxes. i realise that may sound a bit gross, mixing food with poo! lol! but bunnies tend to eat and poo at the same time, so putting their food there helps them learn to use the litter box. Anyways, I have wire mesh in the litter box so that their little feet don't come into contact with their pee and poo
so thats all i need for my buns! 2 litter boxes, don't need any cages, and lots and lots of toys of course!
Buttons and Yohji have been spayed and neutered.. that helps to eliminate any strong smelling pee, there's really no smell at all now, in fact! I only need to clean the litter box once a week!
Bunnies too have very interesting individual characters. You know how a dog can sometimes race like crazy around a room? well, bunnies do that too and it is the cutest, maddest thing ever! they don't seem to have a good braking system figured out yet and tend to slam into a whole lot of things when they maneouveur corners (although not to the point where they hurt themselves). And when they're happy, they do this little twisty-hop called a binky - they hop and kinda twist their body while they're in mid-air.. silly bunners
oh, and they can BEG for food! its just not possible to resist a standing bunny with its twitchy little nose and whiskers!
ok i think i've written a really long post
we're supposed to share pics here, not just words haha so i'd better stop here. i can go on and on about bunnies!
