Starting to work with my new GH4. Got most of my favorite settings, but one thing I do miss from my FZ150s is the "remember focus and zoom" option. Used to be I could set an effects shot during the day, when I could actually see, and lock the camera down with all the settings, including focus and zoom -- and then just turn it off for four hours with a bag over it. Wait until dark, turn it back on, and I knew it was ready to go, even though I could see nothing.
Admittedly I'm likely one of the few people to really need that, but if anyone knows how to do something like that with the GH4, I'd sure like to know. Right now about all I've found is that by closing the flip-out viewfinder it goes into standby mode and retains everything, but I can't actually turn it off. So there's a certain amount of power drain going on.
My FZ200 has that option, too. But I wonder if it would be practical with an interchangeable lens camera?
