Hi to all

I'm Dave, and am located in 'Constable Country' (the historic home of John Constable, the Landscape Artist), in the county of Suffolk, UK.

An amateur photographer for more years than I care to remember, a keen astro-imager, and co-owner of a specialist astro-imaging forum.

Been retired for some 11 years now, from my job as a Senior Technical Manager, in the Telecoms industry, after a 40 year career with one company.

My interest in photography started way back in the 35mm mono film days, when I used to process my own film and prints.

However, I moved into digital photography about 12 years ago, and have enjoyed it ever since.

Looking forward to getting to know folk here, and contributing where I can.

Regards

Dave

Welcome Dave. A lovely part of the country for sure.

Looking forward to your contributions 8)

I guess you'll get along with the guys in the `tech` section viewforum.php?f=22
Their images are `out of this world` Far too techie for me, although love viewing in there.

Hi Carlos, and thanks for the welcome.

I was wondering if there was actually anybody alive out there

It is indeed a nice part of the country, and I'm only ten minutes drive from Flatford Mill, where John Constable grew up.

It hasn't changed in over 250 years, and the scenery round about, has changed little, since he captured it on canvas.

A landscape photographers paradise.

Dave

`Alive`

It isn't the busiest of forums, especially at w/ends, but tbh I prefer the quality over quantity

Most of the posters on here are long-standing, extremely clued up & tech savvy (I'm NOT  ) & generous with their help & advice for anyone seeking help/tips. Hopefully your knowledge & experience can add to that too. 8)

Thomas does some fantastic work testing & reviewing lenses.

Presumably you will know of Greg (Cybermystic) & Bob Anderson, from this site, being an astro-photographer?

Yep, I'd agree with the quality bit Carlos, and as long as the forum is still breathing, that's great.

Yes, I do indeed know Greg and Bob, in fact they are both members of my forum. :)
