Another snap from my trip a couple weeks ago. This busker kept dropping his hats, which should explain the near absence of a crowd.

What I like very much about some of these pictures is that they look like they were taken in a different time, not very recently!

Which is exactly the kind of feeling or atmosphere I am after, so thank you! I am a sucker for anything from the fifties: movies, music, clothing, manners, and certainly photography as well. Book shelves full of photographic works from around this decade have inspired me to pursue the same feeling in my images in a more modern world, which isn't always easy.

Another busker from London's Covent Garden. This is Evie Anderson, who's really quite a good opera singer. Had a great lunch while listening to her performance.
Unlike the previous street performer, Evie actually had quite a large audience, but most of them were upstairs. Also, I snapped this at a time when the terrace was rather empty, it filled up shortly afterwards.

Nice photos Bjorne. I agree that they have a times past kind of feel to them, not like the last visit to London I made.

I'm not sure as to why I hadn't seen this thread before, but you have some really great shots Bjorn! I'm having a hard time picking favorites from all of these, but the one shot that I like a lot is #16, it has a really nice "old fashion" look to it somehow.

Good job :)

Thank you very much Piero!
#16 was shot at a 1920s themed cinema night/party, so that might explain why it looks old-fashioned. It's hard to describe what the night was like (other than awesome and perhaps the most memorable night out in my life), so if you have some time, I recommend watching this 2-minute video by the company (Secret Cinema) that hosts these events:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOnswf7XaOE

Secret Cinema do many movie-themed "experience nights" like this, and I bet they're all superb. Being a bit of a vintage jazz nut though, this night was extra special for me. It was like I was living in the 1920s for a couple of hours. All the actors (there's many, all among the room) looked strangely at that magic black box I held in front of my eye from time to time, and they really put in a lot of effort to make the night special. If you find yourself planning a trip to London/England some day, be sure to check whether they have any events planned while you're there.

I'll be sure to write a little reminder somewhere Bjorn!

The video is quite interesting and I think it did show clearly what goes on at the Secret Cinema. That explains the old fashioned look as well. It looks amazing :)

Images #12, 13, 14, 15, and 26 were shot on the same night by the way.
