I am currently bidding on the Canon 7D, right now I am the only bidder, until another bid ends before my item does, and other people start bidding!
Then it will be competitive, I hope to get it for under $900USD.

Any comments on the item in the link are welcome, that items ends tomorrow 9:06am local time -4:00 UTC Trinidad & Tobago time!

So much for the 6D/5D Mark III/70D/7D Mark II and refusing to buy "old and primitive" cameras....

I finally bought a refurbished Canon 7D from a seller Top Rated Plus by ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/111172358516?ss ... 1439.l2649

I bought the last one, for $944USD.

Next I will buy the EFS 15-85mm lens Brand New, and hopefully 2 primes EF 40mm f2.8 STM and/or EF 85mm f1.8 USM

I want to buy a camera bag and other accessories to protect my camera as well as get the software needed to properly edit my raw photos!!

Congratulations. It's been a long journey but if something's worth doing it's worth doing right. Good luck searching out those lenses. 8)

Thank you Bob, as I said my on all phot forum site, its the EFS 15-85mm lens I will buy for my walk around, and 2 primes for taking quality photos at those fields of view, mainly for people pics!!

The L lenses i want I will have to save for a year or 2 for that.

I plan to buy a camera bag and other need accessories to help protect my Canon 7D!

........... INDEED!!!!! the Canon 7D isnt old anyway, the 70D is just a dumbed down 7D with more pixels, touch screen same af 98% view finder and a superior video mode.

Taking all the 7D vs 70D into account i remember its pictures I want to take not video, the full viewfinder options are superior to any camera under the 7D 100% view finder, its just almost perfect for pics for me!!!

With it I can expand my opportunities! In sports and fast stuff i want to shoot!

Eventually I want a full frame, which wont replace any crop frame I have, just add to it, as full frame has superior images for the same field of view as a crop does using a different focal length or distance for the same fov on the same full frame lens.

When it comes to reach however crops are superior, assuming the same lens is used and you are the same distance from the subject and same focal length, a 100% crop has the same optical quality on both full and crop frame, canon crops have higher pixel densities than their full frames, making the digital quality on crop better and as the optical quality is the same the overall crop is better!

In short I want full frame cameras to get great pics for my desired fov and crops for better quality and more reach when I cant get any closer!

For wide and telephoto it will always be L lenses I plan to use, on both crop and full frame!

Full frame wont come until about 2 years from now. I love the view finder view better than live view, i have seen what view finder views look like when i got chances recently to look through them.

Although I wont give that opportunity to others because most people who do regret it when their cameras get stolen in my country, lucky for people who's cameras I looked through I am no thief!

In all seriousness, congratulations. When you have your camera, you'll realise it was pointless aspiring to something you'd only be able to afford a long time from now only to miss the opportunity to shoot with something that's up to the task for the most part.

What I have and will learn from this is that I buy what works, whether the technology is old or new, if the newer is better I buy it, if the older is better I buy it.

It depends entirely on the function of the technology and not how old or new it is, also the shape and condition of the tech I want!!!
I also discovered a lot of new tech is just some bells and whistles as its business first, and in business its about bells and whistles to get people to buy.

When that same business gets serious and make something truly new, its something that would be worth getting than older versions.
The 7D is the only crop frame camera out now that suits my needs, the 7D Mk II will be too expensive, and I might buy the 5D Mk III before I buy a new 7D Mk II.

I would love to see canon develope a 5D Mk III sized Full Frame with 1D X performance, though the 7D Mk II will be 7D sized may have 1D X like performance with rumors 10fps and 1DX / 5D MkIII AF.

Again I will buy L zoom lenses, telephoto and wide before I buy any new DSLR, for now I am buying the 15-85mm zoom and 1 or 2 primes.

... since you have no real experience on cameras, you couldnt say you will be buying a FF camera in 2 years and an older/lower range camera than the 7D is not good enough (Im sure a 1D MkII will be better for you, since youre doing sports and want the best IQ possible and since you want a FF etc. etc.). Really. You dont even have experience with an APS-C sized camera, maybe the 7D blows you away (I think it would) so you wont be buying a FF in 10 years. Also, then, I do not see anything wrong with an aged 40D or 50D, both sport DSLRs. Well yes, the 7D is better than both, but is it also noticeable for you? Im not sure. It also could have saved you lots of money for better lenses and a 5D III or something.
But, yeah, congrats and happy shooting!

I am sure a DSLR is not rocket science, and I have figured out a lot of so called rocket science because i, as some say "Over Think" by the time I am ready to buy a Full Frame I will have the exp i need.

And why I buy a full frame to use with the EF 70-200mm f2.8 L IS II USM which I will also use with the Canon 7D its because a full frame has superior quality (assuming its the same L Zoom lens in use) accross the enitre frame with a given field of view, than a crop frame with the same given fov, differences being either distance of focal length.

The crop frame however gives the best quality of reach for a given focal length assuming you are the same distance from subject, ( I have seen this on another forum when someone posted pictures under similar conditions to me specifically) as 100% crops of both full frame and crop frame have the same optical quality, modern crops have higher pixel density than modern full frame, so the digital quality and overall image quality on crops are be better.

I know that Full Frame and Crop Frame both have advantages and disadvantages, assuming the same L quality lens is used!!

I want the advantages of both!!

I will still be buying a Full Frame DSLR for the reasons I said earlier. In the mean time I take the best pictures I can take and take even better pictures when I buy the L lenses next year!!

I wont change my mind on that!!
