So, long story short: I will be doing some field research starting in about 3 weeks. I will be in a hot, humid, rainy, tropical climate and I need a GPS enabled digital camera which will survive extended time in those conditions. And to top everything off, I need it to not break my budget (under $150 would be preferred if possible). I know nothing about cameras, and would hate to make a purchase only to have it fail a few days (or hours) into the program. Any guidance is greatly appreciated.
How about a Pentax Optio WG-1 with GPS? It's a last-generation camera (WG-2 is current) but you can still get them for ~$220 at Amazon.
