Hi everyone. Trying to make a final decision here and would really welcome opinions.

I bought a 600d a year ago and hv been happy with it. Also got 50-250mm, 10-22mm and 100mm macro lenses and using camera all the time.

A couple of weeks back power failure on 600d and Amazon refunding so effectively opportunity to start again with camera body. 700d seems to be good upgrade from 600d so definite contender. 60d has many supporters on Internet who would always buy it against entry level Rebel but the two camera shops I've been to both recommended 700d on balance.

I am happy with the size, weight and controls of the 700d. Given upgrades to 700d have made focusing, frames per second etc the same on both and viewfinder is not particular issue any compelling reason why I should go for 60d? I realise it may be potential which I am likely to use down the line but exactly what potential am I missing out on if I go 700d?

Should add not really worried about video.....

Many thanks

Well... technichally the 700D (just as the nearly identical 650D) are newer. The image quality is about the same.
The 650D/700D has the touch screen, which is really nice. Maybe some say it's just some kind of toy tool but it really makes handling faster sometimes. It's smaller and lighter and has the better AF in live view and video mode.
The 60D has the better batteries, the bigger grip, a slightly bigger viewfinder, the shoulder screen and the bigger buffer when shooting continously.

Well to be honest, since this is your second camera, I think it's time to up your game to a higher level camera. I have followed this path: 350D -> 40D -> 7D -> 5D Mark II(I) (planned). I must say I really think the 40D made a big difference over my 350D, and the 500D (which was available then) would not have made the same difference for me. So when looking at your situation, I'd say choose the 60D over the 700D. The camera isn't positioned as a higher level camera for nothing, since you will notice this in build quality, speed, better and bigger grip, (usually) better autofocus, weather sealing etc etc.

This might be helpful too:

The 60D "wins" by the smallest of margins. But after looking at the advantages (for example: higher image quality and lower noise in higher ISO) I would definitely say: go for the 60D.

Before you go too far into the technical aspects, I would recommend trying to hand hold both side by side. See which ones feels better in your hands.
No matter how impressive the camera is, if it does not feel comfortable in your hands you will probably not use it as much.
