This kind of picture has been taken many a time. A lot of green and a lot of blue with some tree or hut in between. However, I just wanted to take one of those myself one day.

This picture was taken behind my parents' house in Germany. It was in May last year, when one of the trees already had leaves while the other one didn't... which gives the picture the little extra for me. Also the clouds looked quite nice - almost dramatic - when the picture was taken, somehow surrounding the trees.

I love lightning shots. On this day I was about two kilometres away from the next house. Above my head I could see the stars but there was this thunderstorm not too far away. Absolutely great moment.

I wanted to go and take a photo of the sunrise but unfortunately I got to the vantage point too late. With the sun coming up on the right I got this shot of the landscape below. I thought it fits t he team "The Great Outdoors".

Deserts are wonderfully serene places, they are silent and uncluttered and there is a clarity and purity about them that you do not experience in other landscapes.

This may sound a bit granola, but this place is special. And I mean, really special. It means so much to an entire niche of people, and I'm one of them. It's a climbers paradise. I'm very emotionally attached to this photo. Every time I see it I can smell the salt air. Anyway, that's enough granola talk for now.

There was partially rough seas this day and I wanted to get a nice dramatic splash. The ocean works in cycles so every 10 minutes or so you'd see one of this magnitude pop up. I stood over my camera and waited with my back to the sea as to protect it from the splash when it reached me. I used a 3 exposure HDR as the light was fairly even. I feel like the lead lines work well and point right to the wave. I'm happy with the way this came out. The photo also aligned well in post processing considering it was a hand-held shot.

Gear:
Nikon D200
Tamron f/2.8 17-50mm

Photo Specs:
ISO - 100
Apeture - f/4
Shutter - 1/2500 to 1/640 s
Focal Length - 22mm
