Hi,

after reading the review of the new SX280HS I wonder why this model got lower image quality points (17) as the SX260HS (18).
Unfortunately there is now "compared to .." between the actual model ans its predecessor.
Does anybody have experiences with both cameras?

Regards,
Jo6

Since image quality is subjective to a degree, the reviews were written by different people a year apart and the scores were given in relation to their contemporaries, do you not think you might be reading a bit too much in the apparently lower score?

Both are contemporaries! You can now buy a SX260 for 200€ or a SX280 for 300€.

There is no way to get differences about image quality between two models like SX260 and SX280. Further more the test photos changed.

For readers that want to decide between these models it is most interesting to see differences between DIGIC5 and DIGIC6. The additional features like WIFI, A-GPS and speed are easy to understand.

Of the years in which they released, which was specified in the ratings, no they are not contemporaries.
