Hi

just switched my ISP and gained a free Flickr pro account. Sweet.

Problem is the Flickr techies say i cant move my photos from one account to another. Now i am not a programmer or developer but i do know how to copy a file and paste it in to a new root directory... but it apparantly cant be done.

So whats the best way of moving my flickr photos to my new account ?

please dont say re-upload....

Can't you just get them to make your old a/c into a pro a/c and delete your new one?

If they won't do it, it just means you have to nag them more regularly until it becomes easier for them to just do it than to deal with you. This has to be a better option than uploading.

Also, have a search on Flickr's app garden - there's likely something there to facilitate transferring a/c to a/c should Flickr admins prove to be more stubborn than you.

is this like a sign on special that you need to renew in 12 month or is it a permanent free pro account while you are with that isp?

Permanent.

I have actually been with the ISP for over a year. I just didn't realise some of the bonus goodies until I started looking at their website !

I nagged Flickr for around a week and asked the same questions. The account is linked to my email address for the ISP. Which I don't typically use. So I can't just upgrade my current acc to pro.

All a bit daft in my opinion.

The hunt goes on for an easy move app.

If you really need to move the photos you can look at this app.

Migratr

It claims it can move photos from one sharing service to another so it should be in theory be possible to move from Flickr to Flickr. It would keep tags and folders the same way.

Note I have not used this, I just found it using Google.
