That's the season during March, April and May. We get the same amount of rain as other seasons, except the temperatures are supposed to be a little bit higher than winter and a bit colder than summer. The difference with autumn is that in autumn you have the leaves falling down and in spring they start to grow back. :D

My grandparents celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last Tuesday. This picture shows my father giving a speech, and my grandparents at the table. Grandma suffers from dementia, which may be why she has not turned around to listen. As a photographer, I can only appreciate her position: it brings across an extra element to the story, to me personally anyway.

Bjorn, thanks for sharing that image, and your thoughts. My beloved father-in-law, an accomplished symphony violinist, lived with us for last several years of his life, due to Alzheimer's dementia. Your photo does indeed have a very powerful meaning to me!

Thank you Rex for that comment. I am always honored to hear that one of my pictures means something to others.

Here's a more light-hearted image from my trip to Paris last weekend, shot at Musée du Louvre. There are more to come, so stay tuned!

It's part of life max, nothing you can do. I try to look at it on the bright side: dementia makes for a good documentary photography subject.

These elephants (he's called Olli, after olifant, the Dutch word for ... guess what) are a big rage here in Holland. They're a spin-off of an advertising/sponsorship campaign by the Rotterdam Zoo and a Rotterdam soccer/football club. Everyone who visits the zoo seems to be buying them (seriously, quite a funny sight all those people walking around with elephants). This little kid had lost interest even before his mother had paid. :) Picture taken with the D-Lux 5, not M9-P.

Well - I didn't upload too many shots within the last few months but here's a shot I took last months near Luebeck in northern Germany.
