Good idea for a new section, Gordon!
Just like to share something that I think belongs here:

Image

Seen in Wellington, New Zealand. Shot at 75mm 1/30sec F/8. PP: cropped and a little curves/sharpness
I love the colors of the anchor and how the rust is peeling off...

If it were not for the bilge pumps, this ship would surely be sinking

That's a very nice display of metallic decay for sure!!

..might even have been a submission for March's theme "time"?

Nice shot :-)

I love this shot, the colours , you can almost feel the textures of the old and tired metal.

I also like the subject topic for the new section. We live accross the road from an old dockyard, the amount of decay there is very sad but very photogenic. I shall have to look out a couple of my favourite shots and go back re take them with the new camera and see what turns out. Something else to add to my list of "things " to photo. Thanks for the inspiration.

cheers Ormina

After i found out that I inadvertently posted in Adobe-RGB  and thus lost a good degree of color-saturation on many of my photos that I present at Flickr, I redid the rusty ship and cranked up saturation and contrast a "little" more. Tell me: is this over the border?

Hi Thomas,

I find this amount of saturation to look amazing on this subject. I love the turquoise water and the orange/brown rust a lot :)

I like the colour of the water but I don't like what it has done to the rust. And on the anchor looks like alot of noise.
