I wondered why my shots were a bit off, when locking the 18-200mm lens I accidently turned off the VR. I never have it off hand held, not sure how long it was off.

Cheers

have done that before.......

can anyone remember where the thread is where the discussion on sensor size took place, ie the end of the crop sensor in DSLR bodies.

Just intrigued with the new range of DSLR`s and mirror less coming out and if that means the end of the crop sized sensor in DSLR`s

Time to buy the 5D3? I have the money and I most certainly have the lust!
Wonder how easy it is to sell a 5D2 these days as there are loads for sale

nice one, good luck with the 5DIII, I have been thinking about buying a 5D or a 5DII for a while, I would love a second body for landscape photography, or portrait type stuff with kids
Getting sick of swapping lenses over. Realistically the 5 D II or the 6D would be perfect. But wife has decided we are getting a new kitchen.

Finally I got some RAW processing software that is compatible with my computer. Hopefully I'll be processing and maybe uploading some shots by today :)

Nice clock! :)

On the subject of second camera bodies, I am a strong believer in having a second camera ready for action, whether on the job, or shooting a seriously memorable event on my own time, and it is convenient many other times, by minimizing lens-switching. My at-work case holds two 7D bodies, one with a 100L Macro, and one with a 10-22mm EF-S. On a photo-walk, I may well elect to carry a second DSLR, with the tiny 40mm 2.8 STM, in a belt pouch.

Haven't been really active here due to work first and then illness. I also had a holiday in Hong Kong for 2 weeks and am processing the photos at the moment. Once finished I will upload some in the Travel section for comments.

My New Year resolutions are to go out more but in the UK the weather hasn't been great to say the least. So I'm hoping for some better weather. I'll also be saving up for a D7100 to buy as my birthday present. Still a few months to go.

Thanks to DP-PARIS and Trevor Harris for posting the only two entries in February's On Assignment. I wonder why there were so few submissions. Was it the shorter month? Was the theme to challenging? Are many of us no longer interested in taking a themed picture once a month?

I'm hoping this month's assignment will draw many more entries. Want to know the theme? Here you go:

For me it was a very busy work month and was also ill for a week so the photo opportunity just didn't materialise! I'm sure people will post. :D

With 2012 being all but a write-off for my photography due to an accident I had almost a year ago now its nice to start thinking about getting out on a few eco photography tours again in 2013. Planning my first one now

1st post here in thinking. I've enjoyed following the insights of those who post here. Check it couple x a week.

My thought 'worth' sharing is that the Photo on filckr linked below has the sharpening pinned. Not sure how many pixels form the white line along the ridges but sharpening is Painfully pinned I think. I remember Dubai Phil commenting/counseling on a snap with the same failing.

Interesting though that flickr 'pros' lined up to oooohhhh and aaaahhh the snap. I'm thinking yahoo could make a lot of money by tripling the cost of the 'pro' monicker. Some folks pay over hundred bucks for the label on the back of a pair of jeans. Others pay for a 'pro' title- thirty bucks on flickr.

The snap is in the xpro1 group. The xpro1 is I think one of the two most interesting cameras on the market. I am lucky enough to own the other one.
