Evan,
Great scene, great capture, great post processing. I guess thats what it takes- a stack of greats. It really caught my eye.

Yes, it is an HDR shot, I'd still like to tone down some of the lights in the centre still, though. I appreciate the comments :)

After the cyclonic type weather our beaches are getting flogged again by wild storms. Although this shot does not show depth, the bottom step is around 1-1/2 metres to the sand. Most of the 30 km stretch of beaches have a drop of 2 metres plus to get on the beach, guess that’s why they are barricaded off and all beaches are closed again due to the seas being to wild for swimmers. We lost a couple of life guard towers last week due to the erosion.

Bugger hop that doesn`t ruin too many beaches up there.

whilst you are having a rather wet summer, we are having a dry hot summer.

I see you are still having fires Max, unfortunately most beaches have gone and council are just cleaning up the debris of stair cases, handrails and trees that fell onto the beaches. They won’t start to dredge the broad water for sand to dump on the beaches until this weather clears and the outlook looks like we are getting back to normal weather. Without the beaches the Gold Coast as a tourist destination will be dead.

Cheers

i went up the Currumbin Valley to shoot a small water fall, couldn’t make it as the road was closed at a creek due to water flowing across the road. I saw this pair having a jostle whilst driving by and turned around to take a shot. It looks like they made up so no flying fighting shot.

Image

I’ve passed this Man on a Bike many times at Tallebudgera so thought I’d take a shot, it turns out he was the first headmaster at the local school around the 1890’s. Scumbags with graffiti has been at it.

My entry for this month's On Assignment themed "Growing up", for which I am giving away a cool prize. Read more about that here: viewtopic.php?f=36&t=32282

Of course this shot will be excluded from the poll. Just trying to get things started.

I don't see any reason why your photo should be excluded from the poll. The book should go to the winner and if that's you, then you can decide what you do with it.

I've got an idea for this month assignment but I need to take the photo outdoors. So I'm waiting for better weather here in England.
