I revisited the Fish Market in Dubai yesterday morning to give out some photos that I had taken in 2011. Everyone was more than happy!

Returning today, I knew I wasn't going to be able to take any more candid shots as news had got around. Still, I had the chance to take some portraits.

All are processed originally in colour, but then extra contrast and structure has been added in Silver Efex to give the B&W conversions a little more 'grit'.

All shot on a Nikon D700, travelling light with an 85mm f1.4, swapping out for a 50mm f1.4 inmy pocket. Slightly too shallow a DoF on some, but it adds to the intensity in the eyes:

Nice shots (as usual) Phil! I wonder if # 2 and 3 are losing their vision. They both have white rings in their eyes while the last one's eyes still look sharp and clear. You really have some nice variety in your shots of these men! You could make a poster of the many "Faces of Dubai." Your photos always tell a story - really nice job!

Phil, your stuff is usually beyond reproach.
However, I feel I must comment.
If these were my shots, I would be very concerned regarding the super shallow DOF. Eyes in focus, the nose not?
